Christine Byrne is an American born mezzo-soprano from Valley Cottage, New York. She is a dual citizen of both the USA and Italy. She recently graduated from The Postgraduate Diploma Advanced Professional Practice course at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she studied with Anne Mason. Her studies at the RWCMD were generously supported by The Clive and Sylvia Richards Charity. Her past performances have included Florence Pike in The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama’s production of Albert Herring, Cenerentola in The RWCMD’s production of La Cenerentola conducted by David Jones, LaCiesca in The RWCMD’s production of Gianni Schicchi conducted by Carlo Rizzi, Mrs. Jones in The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama’s production of Street Scene conducted by Wyn Davies. Her future performances include Sister Lillianne in Welsh National Opera’s production Dead Man Walking and Ninette in Welsh National Opera’s Les vêpres siciliennes.
